The latest enhancements to the calendar feature in Domino 14 introduces convenient functionalities for users. Now, calendar alarms prominently feature a “Join” button, allowing seamless access to meetings directly from the alarm dialog. Online meetings now benefit from proximity support, enhancing the overall experience. Furthermore, setting up online meetings has been streamlined, eliminating the need for manual token copy/paste into the setup dialog, making the process more efficient and user-friendly.
Workspace Improvements
Performance Improvements

Domino 14 brings several improvements to workspace management starting by supporting long database names, ensuring that Workspace icons display the complete database names regardless of their length. Additionally, a new preference allows users to remove borders on workspace icons, offering a cleaner interface. Not only that but, organizing workspaces has never been easier with the workspace navigator, which enables users to easily “drag and drop” entries for seamless reorganization. These enhancements enhance usability and streamline workspace navigation for our users.
Users will benefit from increased support for larger email bodies, with the field size expanded to 64k, addressing previous errors encountered with the smaller 32k limit. Moreover, rendering images in emails is now enhanced, thanks to Notes’ support for Server Name Indication (SNI), resulting in better quality when copying and pasting high-resolution images. Additionally, LotusScript sees improvements with default 64-bit client support for Long arrays, streamlining development processes and ensuring compatibility with modern systems. These enhancements collectively contribute to a more efficient and user-friendly experience within the Notes environment.
Notes Federated Login Improvements
General Improvements

In the latest release of Domino 14, significant improvements have been made regarding authentication processes, particularly for accounts with multiple chained IDP providers. Previously, Notes lacked support for login via NFL for such accounts. Notes correctly authenticates configurations with multiple chained IDP providers and retrieves the appropriate token from the Domino server, ensuring seamless login experiences. In earlier versions, if the login dialog requesting NFL credentials was canceled, Notes resorted to asking for the user’s ID file credentials. With version 14.0.0, you have the option to make NFL login mandatory, enhancing security and user authentication protocols
In the latest update, Domino 14 has streamlined the user experience and enhanced functionality. Administrators can now disable the LotusScript Debugger using the Desktop policy, providing greater control over development environments. Users will benefit from seamless auto-upgrades from Notes 32-bit to Notes 64-bit, ensuring compatibility and performance optimization. The Java Script Editor has been improved for smoother coding experiences, while preferences now feature enhanced grouping and numbering for easier navigation. Java Virtual Machine (JVM) has been upgraded to Java 17, bringing performance and security enhancements. Lastly, Eclipse has also been upgraded from version 4.6 to 4.22, alongside a compiler upgrade, ensuring the platform remains up-to-date with the latest technologies and standards.
Domino Restyle Improvements
Components No Longer Needed In Notes 14.0

The latest Notes 14 update offers extensive customisation options for improved user experience. Shared fields and columns, along with action buttons and view icons, can now be restyled. Users can select specific application portions for restyling and choose typefaces and typography. Designer provides updated view icons and standard icon support. Help, about documents, and navigators have been restyled. Users can import app icons, define custom colors, and use user-supplied themes. Applications can switch launch properties, and there’s improved support for Domino policies.
With the release of Notes 14, a significant transition has taken place as 32-bit clients are no longer supported. This change underscores a shift towards optimising performance and leveraging the capabilities of modern hardware architectures. Users relying on 32-bit systems are encouraged to upgrade to 64-bit versions to fully capitalize on the enhanced features and functionalities offered by Notes 14. This decision aligns with industry trends towards 64-bit computing, ensuring compatibility with evolving technologies and providing users with a more robust and efficient platform for their daily tasks.
